In December, 2003, Attorney General Madigan called on law enforcement leaders throughout Illinois to create the Illinois Sex Offender Registry Team (I-SORT). I-SORT was charged with improving Illinois' Sex Offender Registry.

The registry now contains information on the criminal history of registered offenders and denotes whether the offenders are compliant with the registry laws.

Additionally, key portions of the website have been translated into Spanish

The Illinois Sex Offender Registry Team (I-SORT) can take your phone-in tips about inaccurate or incomplete entries on the sex offender registry, and to answer your questions about the registry law.
